Scientific research is a professional activity for lecturers at Saigon University to develop their expertise as well as research skills and teaching techniques. Alongside teaching activities, scientific research is conducted by lecturers from Chemistry Teacher Education major on a yearly basis according to “Regulations of management on scientific research and technology at Saigon University. Scientific research includes implementing research subjects at all levels, guiding students’ research subjects, curriculum design, participating in domestic and foreign conferences, organizing seminars, and thematic activities. 

The teaching staff consists of 04 associate professors, 05 PhDs, 01 postgraduate and 04 MAs taking part in training education at undergraduate and postgraduate level along with modern facilities and laboratories, the research activities of the lecturers are conducted with ease. In the recent years, research activities focus mainly on the following topics:

• Research on innovative methods on teaching chemistry;
• Synthesis and application of nanomaterials in environmental treatments;
• Synthesis and application of biomedical materials;
• Investigation of chemical composition and biological activity of medical herbs;
• Mechanisms of reaction kinetics, clusters materials, complexes.
